The importance of promoting the Arabic language in Latin America and the Caribbean

Language has an important place in the history of nations. It is an essential element of scientific progress and therefore the development of technology. One of the characteristics of languages is that it to allow the individuals to be creative and bearers of knowledge in order to build and develop their cultural, social and economic environment. Language also enables a person to communicate with others, since it is the best way to promote mutual respect and understanding between peoples, at a moment when humanity most needs communication and exchange of knowledge.

In this sense Green Zone Foundation grants great importance to the Latin American and Caribbean regions, due to their cultural, economic and strategic relevance for the entire world and for the Arab countries. Therefore, we believe in the need to strengthen relations with this region at all levels, especially cultural and academic, in addition to the fields of human knowledge. We know that Arab civilization and culture have a great influence and contribution to the culture of Spain, where the Arabs remained for a period of eight centuries. This influence was later transferred to the Latin American region due to the Spanish presence, which was already present four centuries ago, in terms of language, since today there are four thousand words in the Spanish language of Arabic origin.
